Daniel Peltz OBE, incoming Chair of the Wiener Holocaust Library

From January 2025, Anthony Landes will step down as Chair of the Wiener Holocaust Library after six years of service in which the Wiener has transformed and expanded its collections and services as a world leading Holocaust repository, both physical and digital.

We’re delighted to announce that, following a thorough process, the Board has unanimously approved the appointment of Daniel Peltz OBE as Chair. Daniel’s extensive experience in the charitable sector together with his commitment to the Library’s vision are just two of the many outstanding qualities that make him the ideal candidate for this role.

We’re pleased to say that Anthony will stay on as a Trustee and stands ready to support Daniel to bring about a smooth transition over the next few months. We are very confident that under Daniel’s leadership and stewardship the Library will continue to go from strength to strength.

Anthony Landes said of his time as Chair: ‘I am incredibly honoured to have had the opportunity of serving as Chair of Trustees for the Wiener Holocaust Library for the past six years and to have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated colleagues both on the Board as well as on our talented and committed team of staff and volunteers. In that time, the Library has grown in reach, impact and resilience. We now reach over 1 million people a year online, and our powerful collections underpin a vibrant outreach, education and research programme. More than ever before the Library is fulfilling its mission of the serving as an authoritative and comprehensive source of information about the Holocaust and other genocides.’

All of us at the Library would like to take this opportunity to thank Anthony for the outstanding job he has done as Chair of the Library and for all that he continues to do.
