Online Talk: Antisemitism and the Holocaust since October 7th, with Dave Rich

November 25, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for an online talk from Dr Dave Rich, Director of Policy at the Community Security Trust (CST), exploring how antisemitism links to interpretations and understanding of the Holocaust, and how that has changed since October 7th 2023.

He will discuss how antisemitic tropes and received ideas and understandings (or misunderstandings) of the history of the Holocaust may condition responses to the current conflict in the middle east.

Dr Dave Rich has worked for almost thirty years for the Community Security Trust, a charity that protects the UK Jewish community from antisemitism, terrorism and extremism, and is author of two books: Everydate Hate – How Antisemitism Is Built Into Our World & How You Can Change It; and The Left’s Jewish Problem: Jeremy Corbyn, Israel and Antisemitism.

He is a Research Fellow at the London Centre for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Contemporary  Antisemitism. Dave’s academic work includes chapters and articles about hate crime, conspiracy theories, the abuse of Holocaust memory, anti-Israel boycotts and campus antisemitism. You will regularly find him writing about antisemitism or extremism for national and international media and on his personal blog everydayhate.substack.com.
