SUMMARY:Virtual Primary Source Workshop for A-Level Students: Who was Responsible for the Holocaust?
DESCRIPTION:The accused at the Nuremberg Trial. The Nuremberg Trial was a trial that prosecuted the major Nazi war criminals for their crimes throughout the Second World War\, including the Holocaust\, in October-November 1946. Wiener Holocaust Library Collections. \nIn this workshop\, aimed at A-Level History students\, The Wiener Holocaust Library’s Barbara Warnock and Roxzann Baker will use documents from the Library’s unique archive of material on the Nazi era and the Holocaust to explore the question of responsibility for the Holocaust. A-Level history coursework\, essays and exams frequently pose this question\, and the primary sources contained within the Library’s archives can shed light on various themes connected to the topic\, including the role of Hitler\, Himmler and senior Nazis; the role of collaborators\, and also the issue of the significance of the operation of the Nazi state. \nThis workshop will use primary sources to explore these themes and also examine issues around the use and reliability of primary sources. \nDr Barbara Warnock is Senior Curator and Head of Education at The Wiener Holocaust Library \nRoxzann Baker is The Holocaust Explained Project Co-ordinator at The Wiener Holocaust Library \nEvent guidelines \n1. The Library will send you a Zoom link and joining instructions via email before the event. Please do check your junk folders. \n2.
