This book was written and illustrated by Annie Hoek-Wallach, and dedicated to her husband, Dr Henri Hoek. Annie was a German Jewish immigrant who lived in the Netherlands during the Nazi era. Her husband, a Dutch Jewish teacher, was deported to a concentration camp where he perished. This book recounts their first meeting and subsequent life together.
