Holocaust survivors at the grave of Theodor Herzl, 'the father of modern Zionism'.
Text Description
A photograph showing Holocaust survivors at the grave of Theodor Herzl (1860-1904) in Döbling cemetery, Vienna, Austria. Known as 'the father of modern Zionism', Herzl promoted Jewish immigration to Palestine in an effort to form a Jewish state.
The image is particularly poignant given that research indicates that many of the Holocaust survivors pictured later emigrated to Palestine.
