The Wiener Holocaust Library Today

In 2024 we will celebrate 90 years of the Wiener Holocaust Library. Today the Library houses the largest collection of Holocaust-era material in the UK, and one of the oldest collections in the world.

We welcome almost 2,500 visitors per year to our Reading Room and exhibition space and thousands more to our in-person and virtual events that explore ground-breaking scholarship, new and notable books, and individuals’ fascinating personal stories.

We’re still building our collections / Donate your documents

The Library continues to collect documents and books relating to the Nazi era and the Holocaust. Our ongoing mission is to make these collections as accessible as possible, to engage future generations in the study of the Holocaust and to service as a living memorial to the evils of the past.

If you are looking for a permanent home for original family papers and photographs documenting the experiences of refugees from Nazi-occupied Europe, consider entrusting them to us. Find out more here.
