The is a telegram sent by Franz Kuhn to Millie Levy c.4 February 1943. The telegram is one of the last sent from Hannele’s (Hannah) father to the Levy sisters, her guardians in Great Britain, and it details the deportation of Hannele’s mother Hertha on 14 December 1942. According to the Berlin Memorial Book to Jews deported by the Nazis, Hertha perished in Riga. Franz also mentions how terrified he was about the future but remains hopeful for a reunion. Franz was deported a few weeks later to Auschwitz, where he perished.
